Well Holmes there is good reason for that. Your lower, closer to sea level where the air is indeed thicker, in El Paso your some 4000+ miles above sea level where the air is in fact thiner. The Moister in the air would also lend to its heaviness, I also suffer mad allergies, and when in Mississippi, I was much less stressed by them.

the air is very thick in the south it takes some time to get use to my inlaws are from WI. they always visit in the colder months so to them it was no big deal then they came down in sept. one year, well my husband took my father-n-law golfing he told me later he thought the man was going to fall down in die!! that poor man was sick for 3 days after now they visit in the winter time!
