Definitely will check out Magoffin Park Villashem when down there. I don't see the balconies it says they have, maybe they're on the other side.

That looks like a great way to shop for an apt! Maybe they'll have something later in the year like that and I'll make a trip down for it.

Long time but just wanted to follow up. I moved down here end of May and into the The501 apartments. I have a 2 br and really like it. The building is very secure and of course everything is new. Very happy here in EP and altho I'm on the very northern edge of it I really love the entire community of Segundo Barrio. Thanks for all the tips.

I looked at the Savoy and the Roderick and I do NOT qualify..as I get a teacher pension..there are alot of apartments on Magoffin..May I ask you, why you would want to retire here in ELP?..as for me..this is where I was born and raised and I came back home after I retired from teaching in Dallas

After 58 years of cold, windy, snowy winters I wasnted to retire in warm weather. I'm a runner and inline skater so this is perfect year round. I vacation throughout the winter in Mazatlan and Zihuatanejo so driving it is now an option. And lastly no state income tax here in Texas.

Why was your pension a negative for Savoy?

The homes are for the most part kept up. Altho Segundo Barrio is not an affluent neighborhood the residents still take pride in it and the majority value community as much as anywhere else.
