I haven't seen much in the El Paso forums in regard to Horizon City. Whenever I wondered through Horizon City, I thought it seemed like a pleasant family oriented suburban community with nice houses for dirt cheap prices.

It almost also felt like Rio Rancho is to Albuquerque, Horizon City is to El Paso.

I could be wrong though.

What are El Pasoans thoughts on Horizon City?

It used to be a dump (pretty much what parts of rio rancho are now) but it's really come about the last few years. It's a nice area.

Horizon City is now a lot cheaper than Phoenix. It's funny, but after 2008 recession, Phoenix used to cheaper than El Paso.

Horizion City area is so inhabited. No planning, but that is because of the mess they were left in, when horiz. Corp declared bankruptcy in 70's. I was almost rear-ended going down Hori-blvd. No yellow drivng lanes marked, people driving too fast, very bad. They are buying land at Ascension and Horton streets, north of horizion Bld, north of where they are wideing the two lanes to four lanes on Ascension street. What is future plans for Horton and Ascension Streets?????

Here's a recent video I found on YouTube about Horizon City:

https://youtu.be/kt6MXUia5ro

"This video is all about Horizon City Texas, a small town outside of the El Paso city limits. Horizon City is a popular town outside of El Paso with a growing population and lots of new home construction. This video explores the area a bit and gives you an idea of the look and feel of the town."
