Are you dead set on the West Side? And why the West side, is that the side of town your job is located on?

Lots of new stuff out there thats being built or has been recently. Do you have a general idea of where you want to live on the west side? Closer to Downtown, or closer to Santa Teresa? Maybe some place in between?

Default Move

With gas prices nowadays I would definitely look for a place near my work! The commute is not that bad in El Paso compared to big cities,,,a lot of rubbernecking and uninsured drivers as well. You won't have a problem looking for a safe place to rent. El Paso is fairly safe. Before we bought a house, we lived in "Bartlett" apts. on the west side, affordable and close to everything. It would be better for you to consider a place near where you're going to work to avoid the long commute and we can best help you. There's also "Las Colinas" near Sunland Park Mall, Target, but a bit pricey for us back then. They are building a new apartment complex near Remcon, near Walmart, but I'll see if I can get the name for you and I'll PM you on that. It depends on your price range as well since there's a lot of rentals right now, SFH, duplex, so you might get a good deal, especially if you want your own garage.

I would recommend " The Pointe " near Mesa & Festival. The staff is wonderful and it is very safe. A bit pricey but worth it. Plus, in case you work in the west side and don't want to drive, a lot of buses go around that side of town.

I always thought that the King's Hill Apartments were the best.
Visited a friend there and the scenery was just majestic.
Its close to downtown, UTEP and I-15 and isolated from high crime areas
