I like to go by the ice cream place, grab a cone or something like a root beer float, and go visit a local park and hang with the wife and kids.. I have noticed the parks in N.E. El Paso getting used quite a lot recently.. where before they sat mostly empty.. do any of you use our public parks, and what park do you like to visit?

I did not know we had so many parks here until I started to try to list them on this thread.

There is a nice one on Fairbanks, and then there is another nice one near Dowell school.. and the optimist park.. Veterans Park, and the one by Parkland school can be nice, but has a criminal element that hangs there.. so we don't much. The other park on rail road near Fort Bliss is nice too. I used to love to goto Album park after a good rain, they would have a nice lake there for months afterwards.

But the one I have been hanging at the most is the one on Kenworthy and Sun Valley.

I know that park well.....

Do they still let non students play tennis and run the track at Andress after school hours or summer months??

I always liked Veterans park off of Salem when we last lived there as that's where i always played baseball in the city leagues.

No I dont think so.. if they do I have not noticed.. there is a new tennis court thing on Trans Mountain, and I think people are encouraged to play there.. Dowell Park has a couple courts. Milagro Park - in English = Miracle Park.

Cielo Vista Park has a great park on Cosmos. It is a green, well maintained and equiped park. In fact , Cielo Vista Park was built with 7 parks. That makes this neighborhood a great place to live. The last one built, Hawkins, is by the Swimming Complex and Lonestar Golf Course.
