Where the river walk is right now, isn't where the border is -- have you tried it out yet?

You've obviously never been on the Mississippi.

The Rio Grande is beautiful in some place up north and around the Big Bend area. Just so happens the El Paso portion is channeled for flood control and development reasons (according to a geologist I asked). Really a shame.

I was stationed at Red Stone Arsenal, the Mississippi runs right though part of it ( I think thats the Mississippi ). I thought it was awesome.. a real river, something cargo ships move up and down. The Rio Grande/Bravo is not a real river to me after seeing the Mississippi river.

The Mississippi is beautiful up north where it starts out.

Just curious~did everything turn out ok with all the rain you got from Dolly? I saw a few pics, but has everything calmed down now with just minimal damage? Flooded rivers?

N.E. El Paso it was pretty lame. No real flooding.. the street filled up, but it never got higher than the side walk. It was a light slow rain for us the majority of the time. The West side and far east got it the worst this time. I have some pictures of the clouds and rain.. no real flood pictures. Now they are worried with all this moisture that the sun will come out, and flair up some real good thunderstorms... I kinda hope so.. I love thunderstorms.

I have not taken a look at the west side or the east.. Socorro busted a levee to relieve pressure to keep it from breaking in a more harmful place.. the Rio Grande over flowed in spots.. but all in all I don't think it was that bad.

I'll try to get you some pictures Jammie of what we saw here.. I think the gray skies make El Paso more attractive.

Thanks, Muhnay. If you like thunderstorms, you should've been in my area this morning. We lucked out, but they had quite the weather west of us and also just north of us~stopped at our county line.

I did a double take today when I was watching the Weather Channel. Someone had sent a pic of EP in and they were showing it. I know SO little about EP, but I'm trying to learn.

Something I just found that surprised me.~ It's 82 degrees with a heat index of 90 at my house. It's 81 degrees and feels like 82 down there. LOL

Bringing this thread back from the dead. Would a riverwalk work through an area in downtown?
