Eastside - cheaper housing, more shopping/restaurant/employment options, more congested, flat-flat-flat never ending suburbia, closer to airport, downwind/more pollution, cheaper gas

Westside - more expensive housing, more 'upscale', more rural/deserty, fewer stores/restaurants, easier to get downtown, more Americanized (no Chico's Tacos), less pollution, Sun Harvest Foods

If you work on the Eastside then live on the Eastside & vice versa.

I live on the far eastside but I think you would enjoy the westside. I would say great clubs nearby and may be more quiet with great condos and apartments in the area. I think El Paso is what you make it I think it is a great city depending on what your looking for.

Default west side...

Hi.. I was searching for a house 6 years ago and never once looked on the west side. Finally, after four years of searching for houses I decided to consider looking on the west side of town... The first house I looked at, I purchased. It is like a different world here with everything you need in reaching distance. Recently, they have added an outlet mall and aside from that you have everything else surrounding you. It is rare when I travel to the other parts of El Paso since I have everything I need right here. The east side is too crowded and the north east is too lonely. I grew up in south central and never dreamed of living on the west side. I have been very happy with very little crime. Hope this helps...

Michelle

I live/work/play/shop on the west side but can't stop the feeling that I'm missing the 'real' El Paso. I've never been to Chico's Tacos.

Thanks to everyone for your ideas and suggestions. It looks like we are moving to Albuquerque instead.
