Is the Plaza Theater equipped to show movies?? I was just wondering because I have noticed El Paso doesn't really have a venue for showing independent films, etc. and I thought that the Plaza would be a great place to do so.

Films like Religulous and Milk were not and most likely will not be shown here in El Paso, but I am sure there is still a market for it...

Dont be so quick to assume that El Paso doesn't screen independant films. While we don't have a dedicated independant film theater, Cinemark and Carmike have both stepped up and booked a lot of independant films in the last two or three years. Also, email the theater about any film you want to see. I got great feedback when I was interested in seeing Garden State a few years back.

Fellini is a great little place to sit back with a cup of coffee and watch indie movies on their projection screen. It's a far cry from state-of-the-art multiplexes, but it's a great arthouse atmosphere.

I'd love to see the Plaza start using the Philanthropy Theatre (the newer, smaller theatre) to reguarly screen indie movies. I'd be there every weekend.
