What will really help us in the national spotlight is hosting the CUSA championships. Between the Don and the Coliseum and now with the new practice facility, it is becoming a possibility. The new DoubleTree and downtown redevelopment will help also. I understand that ELP has a good reputation for hosting because of the Sun Bowl, hopefully this will help carry any future bid.

The fact that NSMU has hosted consecutive WAC B-Ball championships should be an indication of how viable this is for us...heck, we own the airport!

From what I understand, El Paso should get the C-USA bball tourny the year after Tulsa hosts.

That will be a huge deal. I frequent a CUSA board and while most of the fans of the other teams are nice/fair enough, none know anything about El Paso. Forget that it is "just" basketball. The entire city needs to put their best foot forward and impress all the visiting fans.

This one snuck up on me.

The Lady Miners play TONIGHT at 7:05 at The Don Haskins Center.

They will be unveiling the two new banners that they earned last year. The first ever banners by the Lady Miners.

Tough loss for the Miners. Tough loss. We have to beat ECU next week to become eligible for a bowl game. Baby steps. We have a legitimate offense. Not a decent mid major offense. We have a legitimate offense with a stud quarterback. Lets hope that our new defensive coordinator gets the players he needs during the off-season.
