it looks like Notre dame vs Arizona ,I wish the sun bowl would get out of the contract it has with the PAC 10 I'm tired of the same teams coming to the sun bowl year after year

I want out too but I am afraid of the alternatives. It could be far worse. I would love to see ND vs Arizona though. That would be a very quick sell out.

Had Cal l lost to Stanford they would have gone to the Sun Bowl. I love Cal and as arch rival Oregon coach once said to the LA Times- "Cal has the best mix of academics and athletics in the NCAA". They don't play morons like UT ( which has a low grad rate), nor do they spend outlandish amounts of money as the top 3 do-- Florida UT and Ohio State, but they have a good team.

CAL could never really compete in a conference like the big 12 or SEC, that's why SC will not make it to the championship game since the PAC-10 is a weak conference when compared to Big 12, SEC, or even the Big 10.

Lipbalm says "Cal could never compete in the Big 12" umm two years ago Cal played A&M in a bowl game and won using 3rd 4th and 5th string players because Tedford doesn't believe in running up the score. One guy who scored for Cal had only played one other play all year. How smart are you feeling right now lip?? Final score was 45-10 after A&Ms dumb QB MCGee said that A&M would cream Cal to show that conservatives were tougher than liberals.

Cal was ranked #2 last year until its QB went down.

More importantly and something else you obviously missed was that Cal and Stanford believe in education first. Cal is number one in the nation in students who were in the top 10% of their classes in high school ( although Harvard is only 1% behind) Cal has the most nobel laureates and the American Council of Education rated their grad school #1 ( once again the diff between Cal and Harvard was minimal).

Meanwhile Vince Young scores retard on his wonderlic, Ricky Williams can't play a season without some drug or mental issue. Cal usually has class players with character in the NFL - Tony Gonzales at KC and look at young Aaron Rodgers at Green Bay perform with all the pressure he's been under being in Favre's footsteps.

Cal does all this with a lot less money going to Football.

As for USC - not that I like them- how many of the last 10 years have they been either number one or number two - and didn't they cream the Big 12s best?

Ive seen dumber posts - but not in a long time.
