It will never happen because of the numbers game but it would be cool if they built one of these super highways parallel the border from EP to Corpus Christi. Hey at least we can dream......

That is really cool, I hope they do build it one day. I saw that it will cost a total of:
"Based on an estimated cost of $31.4 million per centerline mile, the 4,000-mile corridor will cost $125.5 billion, not including right of way and miscellaneous costs. Factoring in right of way at $11.7 billion to $38 billion and miscellaneous costs at $8 billion to $20 billion, the estimated total cost for the Trans Texas Corridor ranges from $145.2 billion to $183.5 billion." Though some are saying that the real total costs could exceed $754 billion.

"To help pay for building the roads and rails, the highways will be partially financed through private investment. The investors will then operate the highways as toll roads."

I'm not sure if this will ever get built but it would be nice to see in my lifetime as well.

Getting back to the original topic of this thread, it looks like the construction of the Inner Loop freeway is already underway and going "surprisingly smooth".
