Hello everyone! I have a relative that was born in a hospital in El Paso called "South El Paso Hospital" somewhere on Paisano. I've looked everywhere to prove the existence of that place, even driving to the location on their birth certificate and it doesn't exist. This has lead to questioning on my relative's part as whether or not they were born at this hospital. If anyone can provide any information on the existence of this hospital or if you know of any hospitals that were on Paisano or hospitals that are no longer in service in El Paso, I would greatly appreciate it. It would be very helpful to find out the truth for once in a missing puzzle piece of my family's history. Thank you!

Most likely an old facility that closed when Thomason expanded.

This is from the govt's EPA website -apparently as an old facility that potentially needs cleanup:

What year born? My grandmother was born in a little house on the corner of Ochoa / Paisano, but that was 1920. Never heard of S. E.P. Hosp.

Yes, please ask around! Anything will help. Just the fact that you've said that others have been listed being born there is a positive clue! Thank you!

Born in the 70s. They've questioned for a while whether this place exists. If you find anything, please let me know! Thank you!

Could it have been called something different or located somewhere else? There was a Newark Methodist Hospital on East Father Rahm Avenue (formerly 5th Avenue) at South Alley O (between South Hills and South Tays Streets) in what was known as Friendship Square. It was open from 1912 to 1986. It's now the Houchen Child Development Center.

Actually, Raymond Showery ran an abortion clinic and I don't think it was called South El Paso Hospital. Anyway, I think it closed after he went up for murder about 20 years ago; he killed a fetus that had passed the point of viability to where its status as a baby was beyond question and uncontroversial.
