I bought 240 acres in the addition they call Blue Quail II. Off of Big Tank road and Republic Trail.
I asked them for the roughest and most rocky property they had. I was obliged: I am in section 549 and 550. Very rugged. You need a pickup or high clearance vehicle to navigate the roads. I haul my UTV and trailer in for a few days each month. I took the tour and was shown the property boundaries. I am now going to each one and marking location on my GPS and updating map. I have spent over 3 weeks total on the land and have not seen a snake or scorpion. Just horned toads, deer, a few fox's and big horn sheep. A lot of cows and wild horses. No one bothers you. Have found a trail where some one had camped while hiding from
Border Patrol. Local sheriff patrols the area and many Border Patrol officers in the area. School is operational, small café is open in town and gas stations.

Going back to Sierra Blanca on the 8th or 9th of July. Do some more survey line checks and relax. Also going to explore the vast unit and see where all the roads go to. Not many maps available. I am recording locations on my notebook.

Is any one even using these boards any more. I have tried to get on the Cornudas board, registered but no response. It would be nice to get to know my neighbors out here. I am coming back out Tuesday the 9th of July. Hope roads are half way passable. My name is John. Retired Military. US Marine, US Army and US Air Force.

Angry No Response on Cornudas Board

I registered and am a property owner. I have not heard a thing. I visit the various properties and had offered to take pictures of some of the sites. No Charge. I enjoy getting out and getting the fresh air. But can't make a comment on their board without getting approved after registering.
Will write that site off.

I don't know of ANY internet forum that lets you post comments without being registered. You can't post on THIS - City Data - forum unless registered and even then posts are subject to review and censoring if forum rules are violated. City Data also has rules about new members and what they cannot do until they've made a certain number of posts.

I check in from time to time. There is not much activity here.
Thanks for the pictures. Brought back a slew of memories.
