There are many high end salons/spas on both sides of town that have been around for years. Yes, a lot of people in El Paso looks for a bargain, but a lot of people also like their high end products. You will probably find what you are looking for - you just have to actually look around somewhat. Not a big issue.

Shopping will be very limited... nothing like the malls in other places. You are going to see our 2.5 malls and be like "Is this it?", especially seeing what a big beautiful city has, and then coming here.

I have to disagree that we are a city that doesn't care what you look like. Most women here have to have cosmetic surgeries and the name brand purses, but again, at a discounted price... so they cross the border for thier surgeries and get knock off relicas for thier purses. But to an extent, we are no way compared in the looks and fashion category as miami, i guess it's on another level... a budget level if you will.
Are you serious?? Most women here have had cosmetic surgeries? Wow. I would never have thought that.

Your going from the beach to pretty much the desert my friend. Alot of your luxuries in Miami you will not find there. Shopping, yeah its there cause its a big city, but that about it. I have lived in TX my whole life and mostly in West Texas but still nobody could pay me enough money for me to move to El Paso. Unless you like desert, good luck.
Great post tusmc!
Lucky for us that we couldn't pay you enough to live here.
El Paso is well known for having some of the friendliest citizens in Texas, and you my friend, obviously wouldn't fit in!
