Do you NOT get bothered, because you know you are not an A-hole?

For what Enmity and others are posting, there is a lot of truth to what they are saying. Moreover, if someone says El Paso people are low class and uneducated, why would you be offended, unless that's true FOR YOU that by your own thinking you think you are low class and uneducated?
What is offensive though is that to say "El Paso people are low class and uneducated" it kind of implies that low class and uneducated are qualities of people who would live here and there are plenty of people here with as much education and class as there are in other places.

It implies that to want to live here would require less class, less education and plenty of people want to live here are just as good, some even better, than people in other places. You can find slackers everywhere. Big cities have plenty of not-so-motivated people.

The adjectives came from the OP. The verb came from a later post by the original poster. The thread was spawned in a 10-post off-topic tangent in another thread that seemed more productive than this standalone thread has turned out to be. I thought the discussion was interesting enough and that moving it into its own thread was better than deleting 10 posts for being off topic. Lesson learned... next time I'll just delete.
