I have been working in the Redcats in El Paso for the last 2 years....I really don't know how they are going to do it, but they have been hiring a number of new people. Half our computers aren't working and half the phone systems don't work. I have no clue how they will handle the extra load. Also San Antonio has the Credit Division which we do not, so I'm not sure if we will end up with that too. Sorry to those who are being laid off.

Default El Paso already has a RedCats

Redcats isn't relocating to El Paso, the San Antonio site is just closing down. I work at the Redcats in El Paso, and we have been hiring new people, but half the computers don't work and half the phone systems are faulty, so who knows how this will pan out.
We got a notice that it was between closing El Paso or San Antonio and because the cost of maintaining San Antonio was higher that is why they decided on San Antonio. I was shocked because it could have easily been us in El Paso....Sorry to those of you who worked in the San Antonio Redcats.

The cost of maintaining San Antonio would have been the slightly higher labor costs.

I guess there's something to be said for being a low wage town, in this age of globalism and the search for ever cheaper labor, El Paso is a hot spot except that many jobs have left here for the same reason, they can find cheaper labor in Juarez or China.

Knock call centers all you want, but they're a good source of income for military spouses, college students, and those between jobs. Heck I worked for about 6 months in one to finish paying off college debt. Worst job I've ever had but it helped me pay down credit cards and tuition.

The truth....The lease had expired on the San Antonio location plus the labor costs kept climbing. The lease on the El Paso building will also expire soon, why do you think they are not repairing the phone system and computer problems.

DO NOT TRUST THIS EMPLOYER!!

This employer is not currently an American Company, but prior to the current owners the fraud in this organization was out of control. It is known that several members on senior management of this organization have been jailed or fined for stock market insider trading.
