I'm sure any non-Spanish speaker picks up a little Spanish. It would be silly not to. My point was that it is not essential nor a job requirement.

Language matters less in the hospitals expecially where specialized skills are needed than in doctor's offices.
Then I suppose you are insisting that the poster a while back who wrote his wife could not get a job as a Medical Assistant here was just lying.

I have met too many people who tell me they are turned down for jobs because of the language situation here to believe they are all lying and I've seen many many jobs posted with the requirement that the applicant speak Spanish.

You quoted yourself but I am guessing you were replying to me. Why would you suppose I am insisting that the previous poster was lying? If I thought anyone was lying I would come straight out and say so.

If more than one person applies for a position and they are both equally qualified, I have no doubt that the person who speaks Spanish gets the job over the one who doesn't.

I know you are adamant about your views, and I am sure you think you are right, but trying to put words in my mouth is a very weak way to make your point.
