I notice that the bball team gets new unis every other year, dont know if utep is sponsored by nike, or just has their unis made by them. The football team has had the same unis for almost 6 years, whats going w this? You never know the boost a team can get by getting new threads, check "oregon ducks", new unis look cool and beleive it or not, helps recruiting, we need some new football unis!!!! Mike P call nike and tell them to design some new unis or its time to change back to adidas or under armour!

Well, when Phil Knight is your godfather, I'm sure it is more than easy to get new Nike unis every year. I'm sure Nike uses U of O as a "test lab" but some of those unis are butt ugly. Besides, I'm sure what sells recruits at Oregon is the locker room, winning/competitive program, and national exposure.

I like the UTEP FB unis.....hate the new b-ball home jersey.

Isn't this true for most other programs? Hoops unis change just about every year, football unis less often. You can't wear 70s nut huggers forever.

#1, UTEP bball jerseys are cheaper to change every year than football jerseys (getting 20 jerseys compared to 90+) considering that each jersey with pants in a set is a little more than $200
#2, UTEP bball is more successful than their football counterpart and get more attention.
#3, UTEP football has both the Orange jerseys and the blue jerseys for home games. The new orange jerseys were made in the 2007 season, so they're quite new.

And the only reason why Oregon gets new uni's every game is because Nike's owner was an Oregon grad and gives them the uniforms they want.
and your "uniforms help recruiting" argument, not really true. The large universities like Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, and other schools that actually win games havent changed their uniform designs since the 80s.
The only solution to the recruiting problem is to actually win games and get TV recognition, but I don't see that happening anytime soon with Price.

Came here to also say it was most likely cost.
