Maybe someone knows - I don't. How is water stored in case of fire for those "mansions on the hill" atop Crazy Cat mountain (Sierra Crest, Silent Crest, etc. Drives)?

I don't know what that development is called either, but that mountain was my childhood playground as a kid. I grew up on what was then the city limit of El Paso - Mesita Drive.

thank you gary siete for this info. i live in the king's hill apts directly across from this house, with my spectacular view including the house. i've wondered ever since i moved here (last november) what the story was. from the look of it, i actually thought it had been constructed as a restaurant (!). pretty much every night i see police cars going up the drive to check out the property so i guess that helps keep vandals away. our apt complex sits on a hill approx half the size as that house, and our view is incredible so i always assumed that view would have to be the best in elp. i hope someone buys it someday.

Article in today's paper speaks of the subdivisions thusly:
Quote:
The Palisades is north of the Sierra Crest and Los Compadres subdivisions near Robinson Avenue.

Yeah, okay. I've gotten to where I'm a little bit leery of clicking on links, because they might open the pages in new windows, and my pop-up blocker is a little off. It's letting me open pages in new windows now without also letting through ad popups. But then when traffic on the network is high, I find myself looking at a blank white page for long minutes as the browser endlessly tries to open the page and it doesn't do that on the main pages.

I kind of like it that they're not going to carpet the whole mountain with development. If they've already started development, then they need to finish it rather than leaving rotting eyesores up there.
