Interesting reading the conservative narrative here. Every single move that President Obama makes is met with utter disdain by the sour grapes conservatives. He hadn't even been inaugurated yet and they were working overtime to try to make us forget that Bush and the Republicans ruined this country over 8 years. But a reminder:

1) Republicans stink. They had control of the country for 8 years, pushing the exact SAME agenda they're pushing now, and the country FLOUNDERED BADLY. Republican is a bad, bad word.

2) Republicans are consummate liars. They told us Bush would make a fine president, they lied. They said that there were WMDs, lied. They said the war would be over in a few weeks after the "shock and awe", lied. Bush declared victory in Afghanistan, and lied. Bush claimed we were winning that war, lied. Bush claimed to be able to handle the economy, jobs, health care, crime, illegal immigration, and lied. In the reelection campaign, Republicans told us that they need 4 more years to "finish the job", and lied. They're lying now too.

3) The most racist segment of this society has been thrust to the forefront of the Republican party. Vote Republican, vote with the klan.

4) Sarah Palin is an utter imbecile and a racist from podunk. She's Republican and clueless. Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Jindal, and the others are nearly just as pathetic.

5) President Obama doing an EXCEPTIONAL JOB. He was given the worst mess in history, the effects of which we are still suffering from, yet he is digging this country out of the Dubya Dark Ages. He is accomplishing this despite the neanderthal obstructionism from the Right.

6) The Right continues to have no answers to the problems that plague this nation, problems they are responsible for creating. Their approach is to merely slam the other side, in hopes that suckers support them. Sad.

Stay away from this bunch and certainly take what they say with a grain of salt.

Now that we are slowly climbing out the the big hole, I doubt it would be wise to derail that. We can't afford the Repubs that are already there.

So keep Obama in and we have a worse time than we had it under the republicans. News flash: The democrats have proven to be worse than the republicans. We tossed out a lot of republicans in the last election and now its time to toss out a lot of democrats.
You want to avoid a democrat disaster just have Obama resign TODAY and maybe things could turn around and give the democrats a shot at winning in November. Biden would have to radically depart from Obama's agenda and do complete house cleaning and you'd need Pelosi and Reid to quietly step down as well, but its still doable.

actually it was six years, remember that the democrats took control of congress after the 2006 elections, and that is when the spending really hit the fan.

first bush was a better president than al gore or john kerry would ever have been. second top democrats, including both clintons, harry reid, al gore, and many others were making the same claims that iraq had WMDs, the difference is that they said it as much as two years BEFORE bush was elected. third, we were heading into a recession at the end of the clinton administration, and with the attacks on the world trade center, things got even worse economically, and bush made the right moves to maintain the economy early on. the fact that the democrats wouldnt help make things even better by blocking thirteen attempts by the republicans to pass legislation that would have reined in fannie and freddy, and would have blunted the housing market collapse seems to escape your attention. bush was also the one that ADDED funding to the border patrol, and helped push through funding for the border fence, but again you are overlooking that. yes in the end bush spent too much money, and didnt get things done in as timely a manner as he wanted, but you can lay a big part of the blame on the democrats that worked to foil every attempt to make things better.

you dont know your history do you? it was the southern DEMOCRATS that formed the KKK, and it was the southern DEMOCRATS that worked to block all civil rights legislation. in fact if it were not for the republicans, the civil rights act would never have passed, and neither would the voting rights act. while there are racist republicans, look at the democrat party for the majority of racism in this country.

you are right, obama is doing an exceptional job, at spending money, running up the deficit and the debt, and putting this country into a financial hole that will be extremely hard to get out of for a long time to come. he is also looking to raise taxes, increase the amount of regulations on all of us, and generally kill the business environment in this country, which will have the same effect it did in the 1930's, run unemployment well in to double digits, run the debt well above the GDP, and generally screw things up. when bush left office the debt was 65% of the GDP, and that was after 8 years in office. today the debt is 95% of the GDP, and going higher. and if you thought the debt was unsustainable under bush, how is it now magically sustainable under obama? get a clue as to how the economy works.

actually the republicans have put up a number of good ideas on how to fix things, including proper health care reform, creating jobs, fixing immigration issues, etc. you havent heard anything about these ideas though because the mainstream media refuses to say anything about them, and the democrats work to demonize the republicans as the party of no, which is patently false. do some research yourself and stop listening to chris mathews and keith olberhman for all your news, and perhaps you will learn something.

I agree, the media and the present Democratic congress will not consider much of anything the Repbulicans propose: then they say Republicans are the party of "NO" the left side is the side that won't listen or bend.

I've always thought that the democratic party has no faith
in the American people and this is why they push for bigger
government as they seem to think they know whats best.

And the last eighteen months has proved this to be true !

Default Let our long national nightmare begin anew...!

Giving the government (and the economy!) back to the Republicans after experiencing eight years of dubya would be like hiring Jeffrey Dahmer as a babysitter. Again. After noticing two of your three children were missing.
