It makes Karl Rove so mad. This guy supposedly found a million Christians to vote for Bush in 2004, but whenever he's own FoxNews he seems to have absolutely no clue about the base of Republican Party. It's almost as good as McCain or Grahamnesty being angry. O'Donnell may not win, but it's a good thing whenever one of the elite like Rove is so furious over the people rising up.

I've always found the "if they hate it then it must be good" line of reasoning to be idiotic.

O'Donnell won with 17% of the Republican vote. SEVENTEEN PERCENT! Some ground swell.

That's just the problem; O'Donnell is only appealing to a certain section of the base of the Delaware GOP, but not independents. The Northeastern brand of conservatism is quite different from the brand you probably espouse.

I cracked up when I read what Rove had said about her, saying she; "does not evince the characteristics of rectitude and truthfulness", and "and again these serious questions about...how does she make a living".

I can see why Rove would be confused. After all there is no evidence that;

She was an alcoholic
That she had a coke problem,
That her father's friends set her up in multiple business ventures that she then torched and they kept bailing her out,
That her and her friends strong armed a city council into condemning some other people's property so that she could make millions from it,
That she doesn't seem to be able to lie convincingly without appearing crazier than she is.

That's the kind of stuff that Rove likes in his candidates and knows how to turn into a sure-fire winner.

O'Donnell, is the bullet to the foot of the republican party.

Exactly, the same poll which showed her leading in the GOP Primary showed her trailing bit in the General, and even losing big among Castle Primary voters.

Karl Rove is scum, but he's competent scum.

He's preemptively staking a claim, here: When the Republicans fail to take the Senate, it's the fault of the undisciplined fringe, and it's time to rein said fringe in. Of course, winning the Senate was always a long shot, but Karl Rove has a decade's experience in defining the narrative. Underestimate at your own risk.

Then again, as far as I'm concerned, there's hardly a downside to having Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh fighting. May they both leave the arena weaker.

It's an anti-Democrat year and the zombies who came out in '08 aren't coming out in '10 since it's a midterm election. People will want change (real change, not the phony stuff in '08) even if they don't agree with the sexual looney tune philosophy of O'Donnell. Plus, she's cute and people will see the financial struggles she had, some of which they will identify with. She's a product of grassroots support, and once she's out there and makes her voice heard, we'll just see how the polls work.

Oh for heaven's sake, over the top are you with a stupid remark like that. It is one candidate, I think libs would do anything just to take the pressure off what is going to be a disasterous November. Yep, you jump on one or two candidates and make it sound like the world of the Republicans has just fallen apart..

I think the panic is shown when there are 4 threads, all about the same candidate. EVeryone wants to chime in with their views on how bad things are. Like libs are with Palin, you are now obsessed with another right wing female.

Can you explain some of the races that are turning the other way?
