Yes. Now where are the good saintly Democrats to repeal it? Oh right, I forgot. They extended it They are every bit as guilty and despicable as the neo-con Republicans. I voted straight ticket Democrat in 2008 in the hopes that the Democrats would repeal the Patriot Act and end the wars. Instead, all we see is them trashing the economy, scaring away business (except businesses they have a personal stake in), and chipping away at our rights in the name of fairness and political correctness while secretly re-authorizing the GOP's rights killing bills while screaming THE RICH WANT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY so people like aspiesmom, HC475, and other hardcore liberals on here (who, I presume, is against such bad intrusive bills) would be distracted because all she heard were the words rich and steal.

Not only did the extend it, but they filed court documents claiming powers to expand it as well. Obama himself filed such documents, which is really odd because I thought he opposed the bill.. Why would you file court documents expanding the powers of something you oppose?
Campaign promises are made to get your vote.
If you go back and study his promises you'll see that he promised something to almost every group out there on all sides of the political spectrum.

a lot of bills are going to the senate to be killed there, and in two years the democrats will try to spin what the republicans tried to do, cut taxes and cut spending, as being bad for the country and saying we told you so.

really? then you should be AGAINST tax increases, and all the democrats spending, and every law they have passed since 2009 because that is all they are doing, STEALING FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

what liberals dont understand is that the economy is NOT a zero sum gain. if our economy was static, then raising taxes would raise revenues, but since our economy is dynamic, the reverse is true.

Bush 1 and Clinton increased taxes... The economy saw growth in the 90's... Bush 2 lowered taxes for the top 2% and spent like a madman...

The Patriot Act has little to do with the economy except spending on homeland security... It's basically a license to spy on the American people... So what's your point?... I'm not a liberal... I'm a registered Independent... Does that mean I don't want to be rich?...

so little you know. yes bush 41 raised taxes, which is why he was booted from office. also the economy slowed sown after he raised taxes.

yes clinton raised taxes, and yes the economy picked up, but that was due to a few things;

the fed had been lowering interest rates for 24 straight months before clinton was elected, and the economy started picking up because of the lower interest rates.

clinton also had the dotcom bubble in the 90s to help the economy along, and when it popped, the economy slowed down in the late 90s.

the third thing that helped was the assets of failed savings and loan companies were being sold at higher market prices, which again gave the economy a boost.

bush 43 lowered taxes for EVERYBODY, not just the top 2%. as for spending like a mad man, yes the bush 43 administration spent too much money, but that does NOT excuse the obama administration for spending triple what bush 43 did.

Go ahead, if you hate America for what we believe in vote Democratic.

If you love America and want to join the 43% of conservatives who believe we can turn the mess Obama, Pelosi and Reid put us in then vote with the MAJORITY of us.

Don't you think the dems and Obama have shafted the American people enough already?

3 1/2 years of total control of congress has lead to one of the worse economies since the great depression.

Yea, those 9 million job losses by the dems is sure looking great these days.

Why would you think the party that brought you the mess could fix it? they only made things a shambles in 8 years.... they have no ideas for job creation. they have no means to lessen the deficit. Not blue and nothing new.

I'm a straight, white male. Why would I vote for the Democratic party that not only despises me, but jacked up the cost of health insurance to pay for others and plans on jacking up the price of energy which will screw all Americans?
