"WASHINGTON – Newt Gingrich's campaign manager and numerous other key aides have resigned together, a strong blow to his hopes for the Republican presidential nomination. Ginrgrich press spokesman Rick Tyler told The Associated Press that he's resigned along with campaign manager Rob Johnson, senior strategists and aides in key early primary states."

Gingrich's campaign manager, other aides resign - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110609/ap_on_el_ge/us_gingrich_campaign - broken link)

I wonder if this has anything to do with Rick Perry getting into the race. Rob Johnson ran Rick Perry's last campaign. Interesting. Maybe they are leaving for the guy whose campaign they really want to run.

One theory from speaking with one of the aides has to do with Gingrich taking a week long cruise while everyone else campaigned.

Yep...Get ready for Rick Perry....

Should he run, Mr. Perry would first have to overcome an organizational hurdle. Assured that he wasn't running, his two top campaign aides, Mr. Carney and former campaign manager Rob Johnson, both signed up with Mr. Gingrich, the former House speaker.
