Not two weeks removed from cheers surrounding her momentous victory at the Iowa GOP's Straw Poll, there is a growing chorus of criticism about the way Rep. Michele Bachmann has been conducting her campaign in the Hawkeye State.
Bachmann has developed a reputation as a campaigner who likes friendly photo-ops, autographs and taking pictures with supporters. But she is also frequently late to events and often does not take questions.
1) Iowans are just peeved because they think she owes them something for winning the Straw Poll. While I support the "institution" that is the Iowa Straw Poll, I think it is becoming more and more of a self-aggrandizing event more than it is a political barometer.
2) Bachmann will not get the nomination, so Iowans should get a grip.

Gosh, Republicans sure are fickle this year. Usually the nominee is a foregone conclusion a year out.
She must be setting a record for fading from the head of the pack.
LOL, on August 16th I started a thread titlted 'Bachman won't last". This loco woman is fading faster than cheap hair dye.
Thank goodness.
Next up, my prediction is Perry won't go so quickly, but will be buried in controversy. Death panels, anyone? Backdoor deal with a radioactive waste dump company to dump that donates big bucks to Perry the prayer.
LOL, the poor repubs are split like a bowl of rancid pea soup.

where have you been in the past 3 decades? I don't know if I can remember a single time when the nominee was a forgone conclusion except when they were the incumbant. In fact Ford didn't even announce he would run until late the fall prior to 76 and he almost lost the nomination: Reagan certainly wasn't a showin, nor was Bush. Again, he didn't announce all that soon as Lausa wasn't sure she wanted to be first lady (as the rumors went in Texas) Many didn't think Dole would get the nod and certainly McCain was a total shock. I am wondering if you were even old enough to vote back in the 70s and 80s?
I totally forgot about Howard Dean. Talk about fading fast.
