Either way, more people WANTED Gore to be President than Bush, he got more votes.

I just hate how the right act's like its ridiculous to even consider it. Bush's campaign manager was the one who could make the call to start or stop a recount, and Bush "won" by 537 votes. But it's ridiculous to even suggest.

Then, some of these same people will claim Obama didn't win in 2008. The guy won by 10,000,000 votes, and anyone who wasn't delusional, knew in October 2008, who was winning in November. He won...

"Deflection"? How is that deflection? I think you need some time away from the message boards.

My parents were living in Palm Beach County at the time--you remember Palm Beach County. That was the center of the "chad" storm.

About three months after the election, when everything had been counted up (and, as always happens, media attention moved on to something else), the local paper ran a small article mentioning that, in fact, Al Gore had won the vote. For some reason, this story never made it outside the borders of the county, although I suspect that even if it had, Bush would not have been removed from office.

Hmmm, then maybe the "blacks" should try to purge "criminal activity that puts them in prison" from their numbers, eh? Then more could vote, to say nothing of actually functioning within the parameters of good societal behavior which leads to a better and more productive life.

If memory serves me correctly I believe that was right next to an article that stated Bigfoot had been sighted eating a Big Mac at McDonald's.

Sorry, your are wrong, again. Proof was found in records by the military that that "Derned" President Bush authorized. Tsk! Tsk!

Had Gore won, we would not have been on a 10.5 Trillion spending spree. We would not have been in the war, and perhaps he would have heeded the warnings flooding in about 9/11 to have prevented it.
Just like the 20+ prior attacks on U.S. military and citizens which got bolder and bolder since the U.S. never did anything about them? You need to understand the Middle Eastern mentality (specifically the radical terrorists) that have ruled for centuries through fear. They do not understand anything but "strength." Anything less they consider cowardice. Al Gore would have been a disaster and invited more disasters than we could imagine onto our shores as Ben Laden and his AQ got braver and braver and wilder and wilder when nothing was done to stop them as the years passed.

As to your last statement, that an American would make such a statement is shameful.

Thank God he did win. Otherwise, we wouldn't have had those 8, wonderful years.

As a matter of public record, the only improper disenfranchisements in Florida where of active duty military overseas.
While it is true the active duty were targeted by the repugs they were not the only ones. Many blacks in this state found at the poles they were not allowed to vote because they were classified as felons by repugs, when in fact they were not, but they were still not allowed to vote.

The connection of the Daily machine and Obama have nothing in common other than geography. The voters of Illinois certainly didn't swing the election. and nothing hinged on them like it did in Florida.

I believe that Mr. Gore did win the election but was prevented from taking the job by a Supreme Court corrupted by the previous administrations. This is not an irrelevant topic because I expect the right wing to do everything possible to prevent a reelection of President Obama. This includes disenfranchising as many poor Democrats as possible regardless of the law.
