I was one of those who felt that as soon as the Florida Secretary of State certified the vote, then it was a done issue. Mr. Bush won Florida.
I voted for Mr. Gore (I was against Mr. Bush in part due to his dealings as a part-owner of the Texas Rangers, and their using 'imminent domain' to take people's houses away in order to build a splendid parking lot for the new baseball stadium), but I also respect 'the law', and the law was: once the Secretary of State for Florida certified the votes, it was a closed case.
There was massive voter disenfranchisement in Florida. By striking mostly poor, African American voters from the rolls, the GOP, with the President's brother overseeing things and Katherine Harris being promised support from Karl Rove and the GOP, did indeed steal Florida and send the decision to a conservative Supreme Court.
Now we all know what happens when elections are stolen.
There is some pretty solid, albeit circumstancial, evidence of Republican voter fraud in Ohio in 2004. I've not seen anything suggesting that it was decisive in Bush winning the state.
I have, years ago. There was an independent journalist who allied himself with mathematicians and statisticians to show it was VERY LIKELY the state was also stolen like Florida was.
Independent, unbiased statisticians, who reveal voting results that defied any previous trends leading to the final vote count.
I don't understand why people think Rove was complicit in taking Florida and would somehow completely neglect Ohio. Watch the documentary "Bush's Brain" for info. on Rove's track record. He was skilled in this art since 1976, with 2000 likely being his greatest "victory".
That mob that were in the offices in Florida demanding election recount be done a certain way. It was all over the TV. Turned out later they were identified as congressional employees.
yeah it was a bad time for America. my memory aint what it used to be but I recall they hung some guy named Chad or Shard or something like that down in Florida for stirring up trouble with the elections. got what he deserved if you ask me

The state of Florida was not "stolen," get over it!
How could Bush "steal" something he had already won?

These folks will never get over it. As much as they will hate the comparison, they are the same as Nixon fans who will never get over Cook County. They are the old cranks who launch into a tirade after a few too many. They are patted on the head, and sent off to bed.

Hilarious! What about the subsequent recounts?
All this is just continued Leftist sour grapes.
What lost you FL and the presidential election of 2000 was......NADER.
Bush won the electoral votes that grants the win but Gore won the popular vote.
