Your post reeks of ill informed "right wingism" and already has been corrected by other posters.
I'm not sure what's so hard to understand how a man who masquerades as a "fiscal conservative" drove Texas's (a state with a robust and growing economy) state budget deep into the red with ill advised spending and ill advised tax cuts.
Corrected?
Maybe you should read more carefully,....or try doing a little research yourself instead of just believing anything a liberal writes.
The Republican mantra is to cut any spending that might actually help ordinary people so the rich can remain richer. Perry is just being true to his wealthy owners.
Good move Perry. Everyone knows that Texas is not prone to wildfires...DUH!
Another "wise decision" by the wannabe.
But there IS logic behind such a decision. Perry's corporate owners are unlikely to be hurt by wildfires. It's middle class Texas residents who suffer.
The subject of where the funding finally comes from has nothing whatsoever to do with how the firefighters are supplied and how they fight the fire. TX is paying for what needs to be paid for, Perry is simply asking FEMA to give TX back enough of TX's money to cover 75% of the cost of these fires.

In fact, since FEMA's record-keeping began, Texas has received federal disaster assistance more times than any other state. From FEMA's website:
Perry trounced the supposedly popular Kay Bailey Hutchinson and easily wiped his butt with Bill White in the general election. Like him or not, it is a flat out lie to say Perry doesn't have much support in this state.
If either of the other candidates had won, I would bet the wildfires would have been contained long ago.
Can you actually show that Perry has continued campaigning?
I believe he left his engagements in South Carolina to return to Texas to address fire issues. And he was not campaigning during the fires earlier this year.
The "going up in flames" of Texas is a metaphor warning of what would happen to the United States if Perry were elected president.
And we already see the burned up aftermath that will only get worse if Obama is re elected.
