he, like 99% of coherent adults are against illegal aliens.
Texans have always welcomed legal immigrant to our state.
Again? It was my first post.
Anyway, he was pro-ILLEGAL immigration. Better?
"We must say to every Texas child learning in a Texas classroom, “we don’t care where you come from, but where you are going, and we are going to do everything we can to help you get there.” And that vision must include the children of undocumented workers. That’s why Texas took the national lead in allowing such deserving young minds to attend a Texas college at a resident rate" - Rick Perry

Supporting education for the children illegals does not in any way make somebody "pro-ILLEGAL immigration".
Using your logic a doctor would be "pro murderers" if he treated a murderer, etc, etc.
There is a strange dichotomy in Texas regarding our friends from the south of us. When we want cheap housing, field hands, yard work, kitchen help in our favorite restaurants we welcome them.
When they move to the suburbs and attend our schools in vast numbers, it becomes a problem. No body knows who is legal or not. We have no idea what any of this cost.
Texas politicians have a problem, especially Rick Perry. His constituents want illegals stopped. His sugar daddies make their money on the backs of these folks who years ago only wanted to feed their families. These builders and restaurant owners are making billions and giving Rick Perry millions.
Getting free education, free lunch, subsidized housing, free medical care have been honed to a fine art by people who who are willing to prove the moms income. The parents never marry, so even though they live as traditional families, the dad's income is never counted.
One thing they never mention is the underground economy in Texas. Contractors are not licensed. Electricians and plumbers need a license. Not anybody else. They work on your house, go straight to the bank to cash the check and nobody knows anything about it. That is why Texas will never have an income tax. I
In our zeal to avoid taxes, we have pretty much backed ourselves into an expensive corner.
The politicians say they want the border controlled, but they never do anything to make it happen. No one wants to pay for the fence or the border patrol. The workers just keep pouring over the border.

Sure it does. Throwing tax money at illegal immigrants one day, and next day pretending to support throwing them out of the country makes him a flip-flopper, a hypocrite.
So he is critical of Obama's Stimulus money yet used it to balance his state's budget! Now unto the Texas wildfires:
Gov. Rick Perry, who has been quick to denounce federal intervention in everyday lives, was equally critical of the federal response to wildfires across the state.
Perry, who announced his candidacy for the presidency last month, expressed frustration at the slow pace of the relief efforts and jabbed the Obama administration for not releasing military equipment like bulldozers that would be useful in battling the blaze.
Conservatives please! please! stand behind Perry and make him the GOP nominee! His Social Security rant about it being a "Ponzi scheme" along with what has been posted above should be a cakewalk for President Obama!
Regarding the wildfires...
1- The government is set up for these purposes.
2- We have paid into the system with our taxes - probably more than other states.
3- The administration has set up this adversarial position with how it handles its money and its supporters.
They expect us to pay taxes. They need to do their job and stop playing favorites and manage the money they receive judiciously.
Hmmm....been looking for that quote for quite some time. Do you have a link? or are you just drinking the leftie Koolaid?
I will do the work for them. Here's the statement.
Quote:
Later, answering news reporters' questions, Perry suggested Texans might at some point get so fed up they would want to secede from the union, though he said he sees no reason why Texas should do that.
"There's a lot of different scenarios," Perry said. "We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we're a pretty independent lot to boot."
When we have young ppl paying into soc sec to pay out benifits for those collecting it now and that money wont be there for the young (unless we make changes) it is a scheme
Please also dont act as if soc sec is fine. Obamas own words about not being able to pay ss if we didnt extend the debt limit. Shows if soc sec was fine there wouldnt be a doubt about seniors getting their checks.

of course he doesn't. It never happened. He simply said: and I am para-phrasing, when Texas joined the USA they kept the option to secede at anytime and that option is still there. He never suggested seceding nor was he serious. Like most of us, it was more out of frustration, not meant to be taken seriously.
