It actually won't. The seat is going to be gone in 2012 anyway.

Just like the democrat that represented West Palm Beach Fl that used his mothers address but actually lived in Maryland.
Both sides have run candidates (some of which have won) that didn't live in the district. When Doug Hoffman ran in NY-23 (both times) he didn't live in the district. Hell most of the time Rick Santorum was Senator of Pennsylvania he didn't even live in the state anymore.

This Dem is done.
“I believe our debt is insurmountable. I’m worried about the future of this country,” said lifelong Democrat Jim Aramanno, 64, who gave up his Saturday morning to attend a rally for Bob Turner, the maverick businessman-turned-politician who hopes to be the first Republican to capture the 9th Congressional District.

“I am afraid our standard of living will crash if we don’t get this country out of debt,” said the retired special-ed teacher, explaining why he plans to vote against his party Tuesday in the special election for ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner’s former seat.

With Democrat David Weprin trailing Turner by six points -- 50 to 44, according to Friday’s Siena Poll -- the Democratic Party is scrambling to raise voter turnout. It has tapped Gov. Cuomo for pro-Weprin robo-calls.

this race is going to be won because Weprin supported gay marriage end of story
over 40 rabbis (the real ones not reform politicians) sighned a statement that acording to Jewish law it is forbidden to vote for weprin this will mean a lot because this may be the most Orthodox Jewish district in the country.

democrat Ruben Diaz endorsed Turner also due to marriage redefinition. (the Hispanic vote turning up at all for turner would be a big boost to him)

even dems realize this
Special elections reveal a fickle electorate - The Washington Post

(Democrats are already blaming New York Democratic nominee David Weprin’s vote for same-sex marriage from when he was in the state Assembly for alienating Jewish voters.)

Democratic officials and President Obama’s advisers expect Weprin to lose the election to upstart Republican Bob Turner in the contest to fill the 9th District seat vacated by Democrat Anthony Weiner.

Obama won the district, which spans southern Brooklyn and Queens, by 11 percentage points in 2008. His approval rating there is now 33 percent.
Currently...
