Maxine Waters would make an inspiring choice for VP for Obama in 2012.

Finally, we`d have someone in public life in comparison with whom all of us could feel not only psychologically stable and intellectually superior but also physically quite attractive.

Maybe it`s time for the Dems to offer a schadenfreude ticket.

Each party gets the candidates they want. The primaries weed out the extremists most times, but if a party is swinging to one extreme or the other, and an extreme candidate emerges, it's usually the other party that wins the election.

Why? Because all politics demand compromise. Good government is all careful balance.
Neither party gets all of what it wants, but both get enough to get along and keep things running. When compromise goes, the Sponge Bob takes over and everything gets weird.
