On a high-level campaign conference call Tuesday afternoon, Democratic donors and strategists commiserated over their disappointment in Obama. A source on the call described the mood as “awful.”
“People feel betrayed, disappointed, furious, disgusted, hopeless,” said the source.
The liberals on this board make me laugh: "Losing a district in ~Brooklyn~ and ~Queens~ is no big surprise." LOL.
Not just this board according to Rep. Debbie Wasserman this district has always been difficult for the Dems. The GOP hasn't won the district since the 1920s.
So in light of this outcome's implications for the Jewish vote, the next question is this:
How much will obama have to give away to the arabs to stop next week's UN vote on Palestine?
Another person who seems to believe that all Jewish people are the same. It is the same as mainline Christian denominations and fundies. Fundies have different priorities and are motivated by social issues. This is much the same with the Orthodox and moderate or Non-practicing Jews. There is an enclave of ultra Orthodox Jews in that district that is not representative of most of the Jews in the U.S. They are fundamentalist Zionist, for the most part.
The fact of the matter is that the person that lost the race was a Jewish Democrat, so to conclude that all Jews will all of the sudden start voting for Republicans is idiocy.
they don't want to blame Jews over marriage either because they just lost before the whole world their talking point that no politician ever lost because they voted for abomination marriages.
they lost here and big (and now most likely gained 3 more anti gay marriage seats in the Assembly in NY last night in other special elections plus some assemblymen who now have the fear of god (literally) put in to them)

actually the second Turner got the nomination over Eric Ulrich (never would have gotten 85% in the Orthodox neighborhoods) I thought Turner was going to win.

if Emanuel Celler was still here (a politican who would have had the guts to stand up to Obama and nver would have voted for gay marriage) he would have beaten Turner.
It probably didn't help Weprin, that he looks so much like Hitler. What's with the mustache?
