Yeah, the debates are not good for Perry. That's not his strong point, and 7 against one is a losing battle. But everything else goes Perry's way, that's why he always wins. Very, very good campaign staff and a candidate who stays on message.
This is ridiculous. Just because Perry and Romney are in the pockets of the mega corporations they should be put up on a pedestal and considered "better" then other candidates just because they have more corporate sell out funds?
I'm talking like a person running their campaigns. Strategy, not what's good for the electorate. If I was running their campaigns I'd tell them to stop agreeing to so many TV debates. It's keeping the low number candidates in the race.

Sorry, but debates are exactly what the public needs to separate substance from empty suits.
Any candidate can succeed when his message is scripted, playing to carefully concocted audiences, and avoiding locations or situations that may place intimidating questions in the path of candidates.
Most polls had Perry leading Romney by 12-13 points 10-12 days ago, and now the spread is down to between 5-7 points. I dont think its an accident that his numbers have slipped as they sense his defensivess, avoidance, and irritability.

Anyway, just means Perry will have withstood a much more stringent vetting than Obama ever did. It can only help him in the general election.
