81 percent of Democrats approve of the job Obama is doing as president
Not entirely sure why this is relevant. Democrats are generally going to vote for the Democrat candidate regardless of who it is, just as Republicans are generally going to vote for the Republican candidate.
Show us some stats on who the independents are going to vote for - that's who decides elections, not party-line voters.
It is so funny that I won't be debating with this one who I really liked to do it with.
I am sure that he talks about Republics because I and some others don't add the ic on to Democrat. I sure as hell won't make a change for him now.
Roy, even those you listen to the most vile commentators your side has to offer, I still think you are a good sort. You can't come up with cutsie names like "Dirty Harry" and what not and then get upset at terms like "teajad." If you were engaging in a civil debate, then you'd have a right to act offended, but you like to score cheap verbal points too -- don't let your panties get too bunched up. It's meant more in fun than you seem to realize.
Alpha, I'm totally with you. This is what I'm saying to the Republics. Obama's numbers aren't nearly as disastrous as some of you seem to think. His reelection is still well within the realm of doable. Once you guys nominate Perry or some other Textremist, his numbers will look even better.
Keep dreaming.
14 months from now, we'll be on the brink of a depression.
I'm not saying it's going great. It's just not going nearly as bad as the righties think. They need to check themselves before they wreck themselves. They should be able to win in 2012. If they think they are going to do so with a Perry led Teajad they are sorely mistaken though.
You do know that the repubs just took 2 special election, the first special election the repubs won, was held by a DEM since the 1920's....and the other was in Nevada....
Just wanted to bring you up with the real world....

Swag, I'm with you. The independents are going to decide this thing, and right now they are very soft on Obama. The point I'm making is that the recent storyline that Obama's base has abandoned him is not true. He's still got his base locked up. He needs to go out and make a very strong case to the independents if he wants to win this thing.
Personally, I think Obama can't beat Romney. Romney will when the independents and keep the teajadists because they hate Obama. I think Obama is going to do pretty well in a match up against Perry though, as the latest polls indicate.
President Obama's base has abandoned him - so goes the conventional Beltway wisdom.
The problem with this accepted narrative: There's no data to back this up, according to the most recent NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll.
The survey, which was conducted in late August, was abysmal for the president, save for his head-to-head match ups with GOP presidential contenders. But it also included these numbers:
-- By an 81 percent-14 percent margin, Democrats approved of his job performance, essentially unchanged from his 82 percent-14 percent score in July.
There was a recent election in NY that indicates one of his base groups has strayed..........
There's a 52% disapproval of Obama now but only 19% of Dems are included in that...right.
From recent public disgust and bad political and not well received ideas of late along with recent elections I was sure this thread had to be old as it doesn't seem to be what I'm hearing and seeing from others for quite some time now.
