Rick Perry's real problem: He's not wearing well - CSMonitor.com

I doubt he'll be able to bounce back to where he was.

I predicted this from day one and was called a fool by many on here. Then again, I have the advantage of living in Houston and knowing more about Perry than most in our country.

Amazing: you post something from one of the most liberal publications in print and think we will all take it at face value.

I live in San Antonio and was waiting for this to happen, too. The rest of the country has no idea how little real power the Texas governors office actually has. The only qualification for office is who can sell themselves out to corporate interests the fastest and for the largest price.

I never really thought CSM was a liberal rag, but I guess any news outlet that doesn't compare presidents to Hitler or promote a birthed conspiracy are considered left-leaning to some.

Well, here is a similar poll from that bastion of Tea Party truth, Fox news:

Fox Poll: Perry Plunges | The Weekly Standard

yes, it is extremely liberal...As for the governor of Texas (like in many states I would add) had little real power, but they do have some.

I read a variety of material, like, hopefully most of us do, but I rarely, if ever post any comments I have read in any totally leaning publication, regardless of which side it comes from. I will add, I am certainly not totally right wing by any stretch of the imagination. You mention the Weekly Standard, like the CM on one side, I don't pay much attention to them. I will add, the majority of those behind the Weekly Standard are anything but Perry supporters.

Is he in trouble? Of course he is, no one needs to be reminded of this, but is he dead, I don't think so...or lets' put it this way, let's wee what happens in the next 4 or so weeks.

Default Looks like Perry is falling out of the Republican race.

We Texans saw this coming a country mile away.

Lets "wee" what happens? ROTFLMAO, thanks for the excellent laugh, lady, even typos can be fun at times eh.
Perry is falling behind big time and it is nearly all due to his fellow Repubs pointing out his many flaws along with his horrid debating skills, now you know why he refused to debate in the State elections. As I said to you in another post, start looking for another candidate, judging by your support of Perry I would say Romney is the closest candidate to Perry, both are neo-cons and share many of the same points of view. Anyway, just a thought.
Thanks again for the laugh

I think Perry's biggest downfall is that many of his supporters are like fairweather friends. He was so many of the extreme right wings candidate until he started showing his true colors on some of the issues. Many of them abadoned him about as quick as they started supporting him. Many went to Cain, some to Romney, but I doubt they have settled for good anyplace. This race is far from over. Perry could still make a comeback.

Default Opinion...

I think Perry will never get the Hunting Camp name out of the spotlight. If the left leaning media believes him to be a threat to Obama....then they will use it to destroy him.

However, if they believe that Obama can easily beat Perry, you won't hear much about it until he gets the nomination....he will THEN be portrayed as a racist by the media. It will be the RACIST against the underdog black man...Obama...the sympathetic figure.

I believe the media plays a HUGE part in who the republicans nominate....as they did with McCain in 2008. The big networks gave McCain all sorts of publicity...had him on all the talk shows...treated him respectfully. Even though McCain wasn't even LEADING the GOP race...ROMNEY was!! BUT...the media knew Obama...who they wanted all along...could easily beat mcCain...and it worked.
