Unfortunately we pick this up late in the series of Herman Cain walk backs... so if you would like to post previous ones please be my guest.
Yesterday's position:
Nov 1, 2011
Herman Cain: "I believe the answer is yes, but we do not have any evidence to support it. But because I am an unconventional candidate running an unconventional campaign and achieving some unexpected unconventional results in terms of my -- the poll. We believe that yes, there are some people who are Democrats, liberals who do not want to see me win the nomination. And there could be some people on the right who don't want to see me -- because I'm not the
'establishment candidate.' No evidence."
"Relative to the left, I believe that race is a bigger driving factor. I don't think it's a driving factor on the right. This is just based upon our speculation,"
Cain’s implying Rick Perry did it through consultant Curt Anderson, who once worked for Cain when he ran for Senate and now works for a firm that consults for Perry. Meanwhile, Rush Limbaugh’s insinuating that Mitt Romney did it through a different person who also shares the surname “Anderson” - in this case former National Restaurant Association CEO Steven C. Anderson — now a Romney donor — who took the helm of the NRA after Cain’s contract ended in 1999.
There go the repubs. Tearing down another intelligent, articulate, charismatic former pizza company executive.
