As a final note, the Ron Paul phenomenon should be addressed. If you are a Paul supporter, please read my comments in the good faith with which I offer them.
Ron Paul is the potential Ross Perot of 2012, and as such potentially dangerous. I do NOT think Ron Paul is the Tea Party answer; a reputable polling firm (Rasmussen or Gallup?) found that Paul gets less than 10% of Tea Party support. Ron Paul’ers magnify their apparent numbers by “flooding the zone,” whether in straw polls or blog threads. During debates, Paul seems uninterested in going after Obama, although he says a lot of damaging things, inappropriate for the forum, about the GOP. Although he is in the ideal position to look into the Fed, Paul has done nothing of substance; I must wonder if he’s not just another big-talking Establishment guy with a fabulous P.R. machine.

Gingrich/Romney race not a failure of Tea Party | Tea Party Patriots
"The Tea Party Patriots" endorse pro "patriot act" Freddie Mac lobbyist Newt Gingrich for GOP nomination - they endorse Gingrich who profited over a million dollars during the Freddy Mac fraud ... and then blame Congressman Paul for being the banskster insider ... Insidious!

The Tea Party was originally started by Dr. Ron Paul in 2007 in reaction to - growing concerns of the loss of personal liberties due to the signing of police state style legislation such as "the patriot act" in 2001 and the very recent passing of the NDAA a few days ago - and the banking fraud that took place in the government concerning too big to fail investment banks that caused the real estate bubble that eventually busted in 2008 shortly after Dr. Paul's starting the Tea Party.

Quote:
"On December 16th, 2007 (the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party) Dr. Paul’s supporters raised about $6.4 million in 24 hours – A world record.

Who started the Tea Party? | Ron Paul Answers
This is just another example of how the corrupt elements in American politics attempt to, and usually succeed at, co-opting any movement towards liberty and peace and away from War and Big Government. I have one thing to say about "The Tea Party Patriots" ... and that is ... Benedict Arnold!

Don't believe it. Any group calling itself the Tea Party that endorses Gingrich or Romney is a Corporate Establishment front, trying to preserve the rotten status quo.

I hope you are right, and that the "real" tea party leaders let their voices be heard about who they really support, or else the tea party can pack the their bags and go home because they have abandoned the only reasons for their existence ... For the Tea Party to back a pro bailout pro patriot act pro war Freddie Mac lobbyist as GOP nominee? That is simply absurd!

The 'Tea Party' has no love for Mitt Romney regardless what this straw poll says and the 'Tea Party' is a very confused group with many divisions of it's own. It is not one group with specific leadership, but it is very divisive and is causing much dissention in the party that may cost the Republicans this election.

FWIW, that is by design.

No surprise they want someone who looks right to them to be there no matter who it is as long as he looks like them

If the tea party endorse Gingrich and Romney, then tea party has failed. One has no integrity and the other flip flop every day.

No way in Hades any group has nearly 30% support for Santorum. He doesn't poll that high among his own family.

The Tea Party isn't anything more than a grassroots organization that has no leader, but it has been co-opted by those that saw how it could benefit them. Saying the Tea Party endorses a particular candidate, specifically a candidate that has a social conservative agenda and believes in crony capitalism, an ever larger government which further erodes our freedoms is a media produced fantasy. The Tea Party has never been about social conservatism, but fiscal conservatism, limited government and restored liberty. Only one candidate fits that bill.

The entire tea party is nothing but an extreme right corporatist establishment group.
