Ron Paul is something akin to 'Hawkeye' in Mash - sewing up wounds, and stopping the bleeding. Why is it that Chickenhawks most gung-ho about starting wars, are the ones who never participated? Does being knee deep in blood and guts somehow make you a pacifist?
Of the current presidential candidates, only one has served the nation in the military, Ron Paul.
That is right, the one candidate most vocal in opposition to our nation’s wars is the only candidate with past military service.
Military service of the men vying to be the next commander-in-chief:
Ron Paul served as a flight surgeon in the Air Force from 1963-65, and then in the Air National Guard from 1965-68.
Perry: Air Force - no combat experience Romney: no military service Huntsman: no military service Pawlenty: no military service Santorum: no military service Cain: no military service Bachmann: no military service Gingrich: no military service. Actually he avoided the draft because he was in college, the same way Clinton avoided the draft and some call him a draft dodger. What was Newt doing in college?
I've been told that generally it's the politicians who push for wars while the military men wish to avoid it. Politicians and their media make such a ruckus, spreading propaganda geared toward emotionally stirring us to patriotism and how evil the enemy is, etc. The real people who fight the wars and have seen it do not think of it as an honorable thing at all. Boys killing boys, neither ever having known the other, for reasons some third party gave them. Collateral damage, families, women and children.
Few in their right minds, who have served, would choose war without trying everything possible before it?
What combat experience does Ron Paul have? I can't find any evidence that he ever left the United States.
And, how can you claim that Paul is the only candidate with military service, then list Rick Perry as having been in the Air Force, but with "no combat experience?" Do you know the difference between military service and actual combat experience?
The OP didn't state combat experience, just military service.
Yes, but then he acknowledged Perry's time in the Air Force (5 years active duty flying C-130's), but noted he had no combat experience, as if his service doesn't count.
So...either the OP confuses combat experience with military service (lot's of people serve, but not all do so in time of war), or he's hoping nobody will notice Rick Perry's service.

In wingnut World, if you are not a warmonger like they are...your military service is not honorable in and of itself ....It has to be "combat" experience or your a *****.
[of course most of these keyboard warriors never could make in in the military]
