“I wish I could tell you I knew every Supreme Court case. I don’t. I’m not a lawyer,” Perry said on Thursday in response to an audience question about Lawrence v. Texas, a landmark 2003 Supreme Court case cheered by gay-rights advocates because it struck down sodomy laws in Texas and invalidated them in other states across the country.

Despite Perry’s memory lapse about the decision on Thursday, he does cite the case in his 2010 book Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington.
Perry Has No Answer to Supreme Court Question on Texas Case - Rebecca Kaplan - NationalJournal.com

This was a huge case that was decided while he was Governor. The man is a dolt.

Who actually cares?

He is not a valid candidate for anything. Think of him as another Ron Paul.

Do you think he'll run for re-election in 2014?

And, also, how can someone be "for" global warming?

You can bet on it. Not sure if he will get in. Texas gov is a figurehead position anyway. Doesn't really matter who is in there. I've been watching it since the days of Maw Richards and nothing has ever actually changed here in Texas because of a governor.

Perry has become irrelevant. Just like Bachman. But they were fun while they lasted.

People frequently say this and, while it's true that the governor's power is limited, it's more than just a figurehead position.

I'll give you that. I guess we just haven't had anybody in there that used it.

uhh- Ron Paul is 1st or 2nd in Iowa right now, and is at least an intelligent man, if not the most articulate> Perry is not in the same league and is not good enough to shine Paul's shoes.

This is pretty hilarious considering how much he flipped the f out when the law was overturned.

you support a ban on ron paul threads, but here you are mentioning him.

the state of texas seems to be doing better economically than the united states as a whole.

rick perry certainly isn't hurting texas, even if he can't take all the credit.
