I noticed my Democratic friends are on the attack vs Ron Paul. Many of Paul' supporters are independents. Romney has been saying nice things about Paul and his supporters. Those independent Ron Paul voters will eventually have to choose between

Romney needs to be only a bit smarter than his supporters... there happen to be just enough of them, with the rest following suit.

Romney has nothing to fear from Paul, the first two Primaries have already proven he is far more popular amoung GOP voters. If anything Romney is using Paul. The GOP voters here might as well get used to the idea that the race will be between Romney and Obama, and if anyone here thinks the Independent voters and Young voters backing Paul are going to switch their vote from Paul to Romney you are going to get a very rude awakening, in November.
Obama will be President until 2017, wrap your head around that now and maybe you will be able to deal with the next fours better than you have for the last four.

Tell me, who sounds better here.

People are going to find out here, why the establishment has been doing their best to keep Paul from talking. Romney will get trounced in a 1v1 discussion, hes rhetoric talking points don't apply to Paul. Anti Obama, won't work.

Interesting take on it. The Paul supporters are Paul supporters because they don't like the GOP alternatives. I don't know that I would think they will suddenly like them. They may just go back to who they supported before, Obama.

The Ron Paul supporters know that there isn't a snowball's hope in hell that Paul will get the nomination. They vote for him as a "up yours" to the rest of the nominees ( Romney included) as they feel that there really isn't one person running for the nomination that is worth voting for.
Hopefully, once Obama is voted back into office, the Republican party will put it's house in order, give up on the self destructive party politics that has led to Congress having a lower approval rating than even Chavez.
They have the Lowest approval rating ever and for good reason.
Take the next few years Republicans to find out what middle Americans are about and maybe you can then understand what is really needed today in America.
The Votes for Ron Paul should now be your wake up call............ This is your own party members telling you that they are unhappy with what you have to offer. Of course you could always just ignore the 'death rattle" in the Republican party and let it die a painful death............. Your Choice Republicans!

If Paul decides to run 3rd party (he is really a Libertarian not a Republican), he will take votes from Ds and Rs - but many more from Rs. This could kill Romney's chances.

The other thing Romney probably fears is if the evangelicals stay home because he is a mormon and reduce his chances. Evangelicals are to meet in TX to see how not to split the newt/santorum/perry vote, which combined is larger than Romney's. S Carolina may be the last evangelical stand.
