This is exactly the same tone you find all over the world. There are some who benefit from us being deployed all over the planet and they'll be the first in line to discourage us from "abandoning them to certain doom" or whatever. A ton of people don't like us being there and would like to run their own nation for themselves.

Our interventionist foreign policy is an outdated relic of the Cold War. It might have been a good idea then, but realities of the Cold War no longer exist. Now we're just pissing people off by sticking our noses into other nations problems.

If we really and truly are supposed to be playing Superman and saving the day when things go wrong, we would have intervened in Rwanda. We would have intervened in Sudan. We would demand that Turkey withdraw its forces from Cyprus. We would have intervened in South America in favor of stability and democracy countless times. We would have intervened to free Tibet.

Especially since the end of the Cold War, we only intervene when money or oil is at stake.

I feel sorry for the people of Iraq. I feel sorry for the soldiers who were injured and crippled, either physically or emotionally, from their service in Iraq. The guilt from this must surely be behind the spike in suicides amongst veterans. I feel sorry for those families of soldiers KIA.

We're it up to me, Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld would presently be behind bars, as they so richly deserve.

The simple fact is, Bush and Obama should be arrested and tried for war crimes.

This is where Ron Paul makes the most sense. He seems to be the only one of that bunch against these insane wars. Obama used left cover to successfully destroy the anti war movement.

It does look like the days of the role of the international policeman may be coming to an end for this country.

It is just becoming too much of a financial, emotional, and political drain on this nation to be continually step into messes which we should try to avoid.

The consequences of getting involved generally mean that too many American men and women get killed, injured, and seperated from ther families. It also is a perpetual factor in the budget deficit that we have.

I dont know if the correct path is true isolationism----but we just cant afford the endless conflicts we are getting involved in-------what next Iran?

Those pro-war politician never send their family to the front line. They will never know how it feels when you receive a letter than your love one had die in the battle field.

When I was in Marine Combat Training, my team disobeyed an order during the war game, and then hell break loose. Our sergeant pulled us out of the game and told us go dig a 6x6x2 and write a letter home to telling our parents that we have been killed. Knowing that our parents might receive the letter and think we might have die. At that moment, we felt hopeless and able to felt exact feeling when a love one die.

Of course the letter never went out, it was just a lesson teaching us that in a battlefield, disobeying order will get us killed.

I suggest those who are so eager to start a war watch the movie "The Messenger"... The movie is a bit heavy at some points....but just try putting yourself in the position of the 2 who deliver the news to the families....and the families themselves.
