Roseanne Barr said Thursday she's running for the Green Party's presidential nomination _ and it's no joke.
The actress-comedian said in a statement that she's a longtime supporter of the party and looks forward to working with people who share her values. She said the two major parties aren't serving the American people.
With Trump endorsing Mitt Romney and signaling his complete lack of interest in running this year, you though that no idiot TV celebrities were going to be running for President this year. Now we have Roseanne Barr. Frankly, it's just too funny for words!
Even if she's serious it's still a joke. Actually it's more of a joke if she is serious.
I saw an interview with her recently, and she is not the old Roseanne at all. She's been living in Hawaii for a long time now, and is a very dedicated Green.
She doesn't even look like the old Roseanne. She lost a lot of weight, mostly from working in her huge garden, has let her hair go grey, and even her voice doesn't have that old comedic brassiness it had.
Shoot- if we can elect an actor, I guess we can elect a former comedian. At least the laughter she would provide would come from funny stuff and wouldn't be so bitter and derisive as it is now.
... and we would get lots of good gardening tips all the time.
