Yes, after Navy basic, I have 14 years freezing my ass off up in the 17th District's, Bering Sea.
Cutter Morgenthau & Hamilton.
I got the shivers thinking about it!!!!!
That is why I moved to Florida for a short stint after retiring, before making it back home to Austin. I had to thaw out.
Glad to hear it, thanks for your service. I considered moving from the Army to the CG when I re-enlisted, but the drop in rank was more than I was willing to give up and I found a good tech school to go to which lead me to where I am today. Glad I did not end up where you did, I realized I hate real cold weather while on the DMZ in Korea, 1/31st Inf Reg/2nd ID.
Florida is nice, have friends there and I have travelled there many times, would not want to live there, the humidity is insane, not to mention the bugs.
Used to live and work in Austin, went to school there also, love the hill country but the boss wanted to move home to the DFW area, which we live reasonably close to but not in, now I live on a lake north of Dallas.
You like Barry aye? Well if he wins reelection, the honeymoon is over ... Get ready for a real nightmare of a term.
There was never a honeymoon to begin with. As I pointed out, people need to be realistic about the people they're voting into office. People need to understand the inherent capabilities and limitations of their power. I think a lot of Ron Paul voters are just frustrated and see that their government as a whole is dysfunctional and corrupt, and that it wastes a lot of money on things that aren't important to them. And believe me, I can sympathize with a lot of that. I feel the same way in a lot of respects.
But voting in someone who offers nothing except consistency and has a very simplistic and outdated view of how the world operates is going to be a disaster. Obama, to some extent, seemed somewhat naive himself during his campaign and offered at times an unrealistic and overly-simplified view of how Washington would just somehow 'work' when he was in office. And I thought he was incredibly naive in hoping for bipartisanship his first year or two in office. But on the whole, I feel that Obama has been and become even more so a pragmatist president. He knows his limits. He knows the difference between the way the world ought to be and the way things are, and he acts accordingly. Ron Paul, on the other hand, doesn't get that, and that is why he would be a disaster.

The rest of this is just paranoia. Not even worth responding to.
[quote=nighttrain55;22899096]is this a serious question? I always thought arch conservatives and fire breathing liberals were crazy.

They can't hold a candle to Ron Paul supporters. Seriously, 50% of them where tin foil on their heads.[/

Okay, from Ron Paul surging you have one contacting her congressman about the secret government conspiracy to spray the population with chemicals from airliners:

Another word for it is Global Dimming. We're being sprayed like insects, and CA is a major testing ground. Most of the 'inhabitants' are oblivious! Griffin says it only takes 3% to make a difference, that's encouraging.
Sadly I agree. It has taken me a long time to realize that. It sucks because I joined to serve my country and fight against our enemies. But who are our enemies? And WHY are they our enemies?
I have been doing a lot of soul searching and as much as I hate to admit it, none of the BS we are fed about the troops protecting our freedom is true. None of it. They do join to do so. That is why I joined. How did the war in Afghanistan protect our freedom? What about the one in Iraq? How is being in Germany, Korea, England, Vincenza protecting our freedom?
Please tell me how a foreign country has the power to take our freedom away? Are they passing bills to take away our freedom? Which country signed the Patriot Act? What about the NDAA?
I am not being a hater. It is time for people to start thinking for themselves an asking questions.
You can feel anyway you want, but I come from a military family, our son was in Desert Storm and I can guantantee you he would be appalled at what you are saying, of course you are being a hater.

Very foolish of you ... Mark my words, you will regret it. Its really reassuring to know that so many Americans think that liberty and peace and the constitution are outdated ... No wonder we are losing our rights, most people are to ignorant to appreciate them.
