So...though I can't post the map, here's my guess which is based upon Mittens getting the GOP nod:

GOP: 11 states--SC, FL,KS,OK,TX,AZ,UT,NV,ID,MT,AK---126 electoral votes

DEM: 39 States---412 electoral votes

If Santorum or Paul wins the nomination, the GOP's defeat will be worse.
You can't possibly think ND, NE, SD, AR, LA, MS, AL, GA, TN, KY, WV, and WY are all going to Blue. (Keep in mind WY is usually about equally as red as Utah and Idaho). And even if all those states did go Blue, why on earth would Florida and Nevada still go red? Heck, if all those particular states manage to go blue, I'd say MT, TX, AZ, AK, and maybe even SC would too. But of course that won't happen. Not even close. I would hit the "reset map" button and look at the default colors. Those will not change, I can guarantee you. If you wanted to make a case for flipping Indiana blue, maybe I could see that. I personally think there's a 0% chance of that happening this year, but hey, it happened in 08. The rest - no chance. (Oh, and make one of NE's electoral votes Democratic. I guess they do it be CD or something, but one always seems to go Democratic)

As for my map - the defaults remain as 270towin made them. I think the GOP will win OH, VA, NC, FL, MO, and NV. I would say NC and MO should be fairly easy wins. The rest will have to be fought for, but I think we will end up winning them. The Dems will win IA, MI, PA, NH, CO, and NM. The GOP will win 272 votes. I do not expect a blowout. But, when this becomes about Obama's record, I think there will be many states that become much more favorable GOP territory

In the GOP column -

I just hate Texas, dixie. My true prediction is that the usual reds will go red, the usual blues will go blue and Obama will pick up most of the swing states. Boring, I know -- I just don't see any real upsets here. Obama may lose some of the states he got in 2008, but he won by a comfortable margin. He'll be able to hold enough of them to get another four years.

The GOP candidates are so weak, so far out of touch with a majority of voters, that I doubt any but the party faithful will be attracted them. Those states you mention won't necessarily vote FOR Obama, but they'll sure vote AGAINST whichever of those nitwits win the GOP nomination.

I predict a bloodbath along the lines of Nixon-McGovern.
