Why do ppl criticize Blacks for voting Obama but not mormons for voting Romney? (Al Gore, Ron Paul)

We have seen each state with a significant mormon popul vote overwhelmingly for romney. Yet, when blacks vote for Obama, they are scapegoated and ridiculed.

I won't speak for everyone, but I certainly do despise blacks blindly voting for Obama AND Mormons blindly voting for Romney, and criticize both. It's this collectivist mentality which is our downfall.

Why don't we criticize white people who don't vote for Obama because he's black?
Why don't we criticize Evangelical Christians who don't vote for Romney because he's Mormon?

If all Whites had voted for McCain just because he was white, McCain would have won in a landslide. They didn't.

If all evangelical Christians had voted for Ron Paul, Paul would have won in a landslide. They didn't.

That's the comparison you should make.

Not all Mormon's vote for Romney and I am sure not all blacks vote for Obama. However, if the majority tend to, that is not something that isn't understandable. In minority groups, there is a tendency to cheer each other on and hope for some common goal of achievement. If a hispanic candidate was running, I would dare say they would get a big percentage of the hispanic vote...depending on which party they ran in of course.

African-Americans vote overwhelmingly Democrat. Black, white, or green.

Assuming they are voting for Obama because he's black is almost certainly just plain wrong. As they always do, they're voting for the leading Democrat. (Already being President is an advantage.)

True. The criticism though is that, they are voting based on skin color, religion, and other factors and not based on the candidates' stance on issues. And this criticism is rightly deserved.

John Kerrey,Bill Clinton,Al Gore,etc all got over 90% of the black vote.Obamas black vote percentage isn't much higher than other democrats have been although more did show up to vote.

Santorum/Gingrich/Paul supporters have criticized Mormons for supporting Romney,although many don't.

Not really when you consider that most blacks are Democrats and the majority of LDS are Republicans. When John Huntsman was in the race, he didn't get most of the LDS vote, so there had to be ideology or policy differences that made the difference in him and Romney.

I'll be happy to criticize both.

I think Obama gets a bit more one-sided benefit from his own demographic bias. Not only does he benefit by getting most of the black vote, he also doesn't have the downside among non-blacks.

It is an unspeakable evil to vote against Barack Obama purely because you are not black. You see, it is no longer fashionable to hate/fear/demonize black people. Those racist groups out there who do it anyway are more than drowned out by the white guilt vote.

Romney isn't so lucky. From what I've seen, he does not get quite the overwhelming support from the Mormon base percentage-wise and Barack gets among blacks. Barack will most likely pull 90% or more of the black vote while Romney will get only about 65% of the Mormon vote.

And the downside to his religion is much more significant than any benefit because it absolutely is still fashionable to hate/fear/demonize Mormons -- though it does seem to be diminishing somewhat. So he gains a strong majority of the vote among the 1% of Americans that are Mormons. If he loses even 5% of the remaining 99% of the American vote to his Mormonism, it's still a massive net loss.

So Obama comes out way ahead by getting 90% of the 13% of America that is black with no counterbalancing downside.
