Santorum has picked up some key endorsements in Iowa that helped Huckabee win the Iowa caucus in 08: Bob Vander Plaats, the head of the Family Leader, and Chuck Hurley, the president of the Iowa Family Policy Center. According to the latest Rasmussen poll, he has gone from 6% support to 10% in just six days. Now that the Republican party is due to pick another "not Romney" can Santorum win Iowa and use this momentum to earn significant support nationwide?
If the Republicans have a Presidential candidate Flavor of the Day, they do not a) deserve any office they seek, and b) should be prohibited from voting. Truly a party too incompetent to put up a person to oppose an incumbent they universally despise is metaphorically a train seconds before impact with the end of the tracks.
The nomination process may seem disorganized now but the choice in November will be clear to right wingers, right-leaning independents, and other voters who are fed up with the current state of the economy. As Romney would say: Nice try!
