Who knew Newt actually could have a sane view? Even he know fox is nothing but trash.
"In what some might consider an act of GOP political suicide, Newt Gingrich slammed Fox News earlier this week, saying that the cable news channel has favored Mitt Romney throughout the 2012 Republican race--and that CNN has been the more "fair-and-balanced" network this cycle."
"I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through," Gingrich said during a meeting with Tea Party leaders in Delaware on Wednesday
"In our experience, Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than Fox this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we're more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That's just a fact."
Newt is a great political idea man, but he is wrong about Fox. They have given lot of equal time to most of the candidates.
He is just bitter they didn't champion him alone the way other networks did Obama.
It's Newt's personality. He is a bit over confident and somewhat full of himself, but wouldn't a person need some of that to lead anyway?
I think it goes with the profession.
How can you use "more likely" and "that's just a fact" in the same sentence? "More likely" asserts that the element of possibility exists.....whereas saying something is a "fact" doesn't leave room for other possibilities. You can't "more likely" have bias and then say that such bias is "a fact."
I've seen these interchanges used in the same sentence by politicians several times. I don't think they know they do it....it's just engrained in their psyche to be evasive and semantically safe.
It is very easy. If something can be proven to be a "more likely" outcome then describing it as "that is just a fact" is perfectly appropriate from a logical perspective.
For example, I will use it in a sentence.
When you roll two six sided die the sum of the values rolled is "more likely" to be a 7 then any other particular number and "that's just a fact."
With that said I believe Newt did use 2 sentences.

You're using statistics and probability to determine an outcome. Newt, however, is not. Newt is stating that something is a "fact" after making the assertion that it is "likely." Either it is, if it's a "fact", or its a possibility, if it's "likely."
Newt is engaging politician speak. Nothing more, nothing less.

Newt is kinda late to the game. Most people already knew that Fox News is nothing more than a propaganda arm of the GOP. Fox reports and spins their coverage at the behest of the Republican party leadership. If the GOP wanted Newt to be the nominee, Fox News would have been 100% devoted to helping make that happen.

I completely agree with Newt on this one. I hate to do so since you seem to, also, but that seems to be how things are.
Hold on now, this is unreal! Roys is agreeing that fox is nothing but hard right distorted trash? What's going on here? Did you finally see the light from all that fox/beck garbage?
