Very interesting...they aren't turning to Romney or Gingrich...not a shock really but this could give a nice boost in the polls and maybe win a few states.
Pandering to them? No. He met with them they want to know if he was planning on staying in the race he said yes so they are throwing support behind him. Does he see them as collective to gain power? I doubt it. His party? no. You should know well by now Paul is loyal to 1 thing and that is the constitution not a party.

Why did he pick a religious group to make that announcement in person to them? Hint: Because that is a key group in republicanism, a collective with immense influence in his party's make up.
"If they succeed in establishing religion as a basic Republican Party tenet, they could do us in."

One thing Ron Paul doesn't do is pander. It isn't in his vocabulary.
True Christians should have always been for Paul from the start if they valued the Golden Rule, Just War Theory, honest weights and measures and other Biblical values which Ron Paul embody. It's a pity that they were misguided and lead along by Santorum. The other breed of Christians who were promised a Christian Theocracy which reports to the Pope, by Santorum, would be deeply disappointed by Paul.
So this is what an influential Christian leader had to say about voting for Obamney:
Quote:
"Obama and Romney are the wrong direction for the USA. They serve another Jesus. Romney and Obama aren't Christians even though they want us to believe they are," he explains.
He hopes people understand Romney's heresies. Romney thinks Jesus is a created being, the spirit brother of Lucifer. Christians believe that Jesus is the Second Person of the Godhead, God eternal. Romney also thinks that he will become a God. This is considered evil by Christians. He wants pastors to stand up for God and His Word.
"Obama covered the name and cross of Jesus at Georgetown. Obama believes in leaving living babies to die who survive botched abortions. Obama wants to change George Washington's Christian laws prohibiting homosexual sin. Obama opposes religious liberty. God says turn away from Obama," he explains.
"The USA is heading the wrong direction by voting for non-Christians. Scripture teaches this causes economic decline and threatens religious liberty," he says.
The First Commandment says to love God and in the Ten Commandments it says to have no other God before the LORD. Therefore, he says God calls Christians to vote for Christians.
"If a Christian leader says to support Romney or Obama, don't listen to them. They are going against Scripture," he continues.
"God says Romney and Obama are 'accursed.' Those who vote for them would also be accursed (2Chronicles 19:2)," he adds. Galatians 1:9 says, "if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed."
That's a fine idiot we have there^^, but even his vote is a vote. Won't he be rudely surprised when Paul swears by the Bible to uphold the Constitution and not swear by the Constitution to uphold the Bible? :-D

I watched the religious Thanksgiving round table debate with Paul and all the other candidates a while back.
The audience seemed extremely impressed with Paul's answers,
as well did the other candidates on the panel.
If I was a Christian, he would exactly be the person I would
want to support, because Paul does value the things you've
just mentioned.
Paul walks the walk
The article was written by Doug Wead... Isn't that like the head honcho of the Paul campaign, his senior advisor or something? Either way he is definitely on the Paul campaign's payroll, and he regularly appears on news stations as the campaign's top surrogate. But I'm sure he wrote this article with an objective approach and left all his personal biases (philosophical and financial) at the door.
That's like having Jim Messina or David Axelrod write an article about how well Obama is doing and why certain groups should get on board with him...
