This can't be true, Romney cares about the poor. They have a safety net which doesn't need his attention...as do the wealthy

Didn't he say so?

I think that's referred to as either the "Donner Party" or "Cannibals" argument (aka, some must die that others may live), or perhaps it's the new "Just-in-Time" labor force (with the employee now absorbing the slack for business)!

It is true that Romney took over companies that were going bankrupt and about to close their doors and everyone lost their jobs. By saving businesses from total failure and closure he SAVED Jobs, millions of jobs. Unfortunately I know many Americans refuse to look past the speeches and rhetoric and believe anything the president says.

Just like I tried telling people that hidden in the presidents speech was that yes, middle class Americans were also going to pay more in taxes. At first he refused to extend the Bush tax cuts because it was increasing taxes on rich but did not tell you that the allowing the expiration of the Bush tax cuts also increased taxes on middle class. Forum members laughed, said we were crazy, saying we must have a crystal ball.

Obama was not telling the full "story". If he is re-elected, oh well, too late.

Now he knows the gig is up and tried to pass below 250k and below but since it did not pass the last time, he knew it would not pass this time only this time he gets to BLAME the republicans. He's good, no, in fact he is great at brainwashing you and you are too easy.

Enjoy your tax increase. And a smaller paycheck. We tried warning you!

By the way, these people do pay taxes, and they are also Americans.

alright, i'm calling out my own party for this. Was there really a need for a thread to point out that a republican is looking to screw poor people. Republicans dont give a damn about the poor and would rather see them homeless and/or dead on the street. You can create a 100 threads about this, and conservatives will simply just dismiss it, or justify their actions towards the mistreatment of the poor.

Matter of numbers.....MR hates the poor while Obama hates the middle class and the rich. So MR is the clear choice for president as he hates fewer people.

There seems to be some sort of conservative blind spot regarding the working poor and near-poor. These people typically spend a staggering proportion of their incomes for shelter, leaving them with little of nothing to save and invest, yet a lot of people think these people aren't paying enough taxes.

So if they get their wish of increasing taxes on the poor while cutting spending, things could get ugly. (In the sense of increased homelessness etc.)

He said they have a safety net. As in now. He made no guarantee about the future.
