President Obama is kicking Mitt Romney's ass in the electoral college. Obama's path to 270 is much, much easier and allows for the president to take several paths to get to that magic number. Romney will have a very tough time getting 270. Even states Romney should have no trouble winning are in play, even if Obama is a heavy underdog.

Take a look at these three maps:

270towin.com (Obama 255, Romney 161, Tossup 122):
http://www.270towin.com/2012-election-polling-map/obama-romney/

RealClearPolitics (Obama 243, Romney 170, Tossup 125):
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html

Pollster (Obama 284, Romney 170, Tossup 84):
http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/romney-vs-obama-electoral-map

This could end up looking a lot like 2008, where McCain and Obama were relatively close in the national vote, but Obama crushed McCain in the Electoral College.

Dems don't be complacent."We need to kick a$$ non-stop until election day." And after because "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania are all toss ups. Not good for Obama.

Just curious....wondering if you could answer a few questions for me to help me better understand the thought process of the liberal left..

1. what is it about the obama presidency that thrills you?

2. Do you even consider the debt when thinking of voting for obama?

3. Do you understand that obama has no plan to balance the federal budget?

4. Do you understand that the DEMOCRATS have no plan to balance the federal budget?

5. How long do you think the US dollar can retain even it's current degraded value with the massive debt this country carries and with no leadership steering us in the right direction to pay it down?

Thank you for your time.

Two things
1. Romney has a chance to make major enroads because he isn't a defined persona like Obama.
2. Obama is polling below 48% in just about every swing state and a couple Dem Lean states, but the vast majority of Americans have an entrenched view of Obama so he needs to work hard for each additional vote.

So it may appear right now that Obama will win the EC, but there is a decent path for victory for Romney, right now odds seem a little in favor of Obama.

He saved the economy. The debt we incurred saved a state. A Republican president would never have had the balls to step up to BP. He gave the order to kill bin Laden, health care reform, he tried to end the tax cuts to the wealthiest....

Yes I do. It was a necessary evil at the time.

He tried to let the tax cuts to the wealthiest expire. Republians wouldn't let him. That would have knocked out more than half the debt in four years.

Bullcrap, and you know it. Even if this was true, no plan beats the same old tired plans Romney is trotting out.

A lot of this depends on Europe. Of course, youre side conveniently ignores what is going on there while refusing to give Obama any credit whatsoever.

Thank you for your time.[/quote]

Obama's and the Democrats' plan to address the deficit involves both spending cuts AND raising capital gains taxes and moderately raising income taxes on the most wealthy, those who can most afford it.

Romney and the Republicans plan to address the deficit involves spending cuts specifically targeting social safety net programs, hurting those who can least afford it.

Thats because they are looking at registered voters, not likely voters. When you look at litely voters the results are vastly different. Not saying its enought to give Romney the win, but dont forget, Obama only won the last election against "Bush 3", by 3 percentage points and his victory was far from a manadate despite what everyone claimed.

If you dont think 3% of the public has changed their views, your kidding yourself.

Then why doesnt Obamas own budget bill proposals include these in it?
