How do most of you justify cutting social programs that help the poor, like school free lunch but are willing to dump billions upon billions into military hardware like F22's and carriers. America has 11 carrier groups and the rest of the world has less than 5.
But you b*tch and moan about money being spent on social programs that pale in comparison to the money spent on our military. Do we really need another carrier? There is one currently under construction that cost tens of billions of dollars. But we can't even invest in our country's infrastructure because of republicans. This is hypocrisy and is why most moderate Americans have a hard time voting for someone like Mitt.
Obama had his chance to invest in infrustructure with his first stimulus plan. Rather than do that he used the money to pay off campaign donors.

He isn't getting another chance at it.

Cuts should be across the board including the military.

Like who?

Here is were the stimulus went: http://www.bea.gov/recovery/pdf/arra_table_01b.pdf

The largest single portion of the stimulus was tax cuts and refundable tax credits; then came aid to state and local governments; then, unemployment insurance and food stamps then everything else.

So which ones were campaign donors or did you just type whatever came to your mind at the time?

Yo can go to Recovery.gov - Tracking the Money for yourself.

According to that site, there was $840 billion allocated as follows:
--- $298 b -- tax benefits
--- $234 b -- contracts, grants and loans
--- $226 b -- entitlements

Again, where are the campaign donors?

Facts don't seem to matter to you.

Nice post. Too bad facts don't matter to liberals.

After the election, Gips was put in charge of hiring in the Obama White House, helping to place loyalists and fundraisers in many key positions. Then in mid-2009, the new president named him ambassador to South Africa. Level 3 Communications, in which Gips retained stock, meanwhile received millions of dollars of government stimulus contracts for broadband projects in six states—though Gips said he was "completely unaware" of the stimulus money.

I can do this all day. Please tell me ahead of time how many I need to post.

P.S. When you get some time read into the amount of waste and fraud that has been associated with the broadband programs.

And that's cause and effect according to you? This is the six degrees of separation effect.

Obviously, when there is a stimulus that ranges all industries in the country, some people who are also connected to Obama are going to see a benefit. That isn't proof that that was the purpose.

I'm an Obama supporter and I took advantage of tax credits for solar. Maybe the purpose of the stimulus was to funnel money to me?

Frequency of posting has no bearing on merit. So you are correct.

It's easy to be dismissive here but the facts are Obama had his shot and isn't getting another.
